Kim Shaw
Your Roselle, NJ 4th Ward Council Candidate

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. This is a great forum to keep up with fans, colleagues, friends, family and constituents. I appreciate you stopping in to check in with me.

2010 is already off and running. For one, my work at the high school keeps me quite busy. I'm having a great year, working with some very bright and energetic students. While there are quite a few tough cases, it all balances out. I'm writing consistently again after having taken off a few months. Working on some new projects and trying some different techniques. I'm also excited about my first foray into politics. Running for a council seat as the 4th Ward representative in Roselle has been quite an eye-opening experience. I'm just staying focused on the goal, which is being a voice for the residents and advocating for their issues and concerns. I'm grateful for the opportunity and looking forward to what comes after the election.

Again, thanks for checking in with me and please stop by again soon. I promise to keep you up-to-date.

Turn Up The Heat

July, 2009 Release

Romance Backstage

As a former trained dancer, it was only a matter of time before I returned to my first love. Romance Backstage is a sizzling story of a dancer turned starlet who falls hard for the sexy money man behind her first Broadway show. Sparks fly and egos collide in this firery romance. Books can be pre-ordered anywhere books are sold.

Congratulations Graduates

On May 19, 2009, I joined sixteen other extremely talented and wonderful people at the convocation celebration of Rutgers Graduate School-Newark. As part of the inaugural class of one of the top up and coming MFA Creative Writing programs, I was honored and humbled to be amongst such talent and creative spirit.

Earning an MFA is a personal accomplishment for me. More importantly, however, it serves as a reminder that learning never stops. As writers, it is encumbent upon us to always strive to perfect our craft and stretch ourselves in order to create stories that are worthy of our readers.

Those of you who have considered returning to the halls of academia, I encourage and applaud your efforts. If anyone is searching for an excellent MFA program in the Tri-state area, look no further -- Rutgers, Newark is there for you!
